Hodgkinson was an early adopter of a leadership development model that ensured the needs and challenges of women and people of color were included in her teaching, continuing to work extensively with people inside and outside traditional power structures. All of her clients share an understanding that they must strategically manage their own professional learning, leadership development and personal brand to drive their own success and that of their companies.
Hodgkinson is the author of The Leader’s Edge: Using Personal Branding to Drive Performance and Profit (2005) which has sold more than 30,000 copies worldwide and was a winner of the Pinnacle Book Achievement Award. The Leader’s Edge is considered the definitive book on personal branding.
Hodgkinson and her work have been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Detroit Free Press, Essence Magazine, The Boston Globe, Fox News, Chronicle, The Indian Express and other major news outlets. In 2016, Hodgkinson received India’s World HRD Congress Leadership Award.
She holds an MBA from Simmons School of Management and is on the Executive Education faculty there and at other business schools and leadership institutes.
